Mildmay have now Moved Into Their New Hospital
Our new address is: 19 Tabernacle Gardens. London. E2 7DZ
After ten years of planning we moved into our brand new purpose built hospital in September 2014. the new hospital is just a few steps away from our old building in Austin Street. After the inevitable delays, the move seemed to all happen very quickly and we were moving, packing boxes and crates to brimming. Finally we made the short but exciting journey from old building to new. A few days later our patients moved across and were settled in. Many were excited and impressed with the beautiful new facilities. Some of our In-patients needed extra support to manage the move to their smart and new, but unfamiliar rooms. Our expert staff were on hand to reassure and care and services continued without pause. Our day service clients were delighted to find themselves in such spacious and light surroundings. Clients loved the fact that the new day service room opens onto a small courtyard garden. The new gym has more space to work, and a new dining room means that day service activities no longer had to be packed away before lunch can be served.
Just one week on from moving in, our president Margaret Sentamu unveiled the foundation stone at an intimate ceremony for staff and volunteers. Although this was not the official opening- we expect that to take place sometime next year, it was an important occasion. A proud moment to pause, reflect and thank all those who have worked so hard and supported Mildmay enabling us to make this momentous and exciting next step.
It’s been hard work, and at times felt like along wait but it is so wonderful to finally be in the new and beautiful Mildmay hospital.
A really huge thank you to all the trusts, our friends and supporters. You can be so proud that you helped the dream of opening a new Mildmay hospital ,become a reality-helping us to support and transform even more lives.
